MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. led the inauguration of the Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) Cavite Extension (L1CE) Phase 1 Project in Parañaque City on Friday, November 15.

The five new stations include Redemptorist-Aseana Station, MIA Road Station, PITX Station, Ninoy Aquino Avenue Station, and Dr. Santos (formerly Sucat) Station.

All the new stations will have elevators, escalators, and tactile guides for passengers with special needs.

The L1CE, a public-private partnership between the Philippine government and Light Rail Manila Corporation, is projected to reduce travel time from Quezon City to Parañaque City to less than an hour.

Phases 2 and 3 of the project are expected to extend the train line for about 6 kilometers, with two more stations in Las Piñas City and another in Bacoor City, Cavite.

The entire L1CE is estimated to cater to 300,000 additional passengers daily, with a total of 800,000 riderships daily once the entire LRT-1 is operational.
